Metaphoric self Portrait

Statement

The metaphoric Self-Portrait is acollage of printed images that educators emphasize on what they interpretteaching. This self-portrait is a collage of images that represents family andparenting. As an educator, parenting was one of most enormous teachinginspiration. Growing up, parents taught children how to take care ofthemselves. For example, parents have taught their children how to cook, clean, read, talk, and walk. Without a cognitive development assisted by parents, children would not have developed at a proper level in a certain amount of time.Children would have no sense of manners or feelings towards other individual,as well as, building character. Parentshave taught children a certain level of common sense which helps studentsachieve in the future. The portrait image consists of photos of parents withchildren, working at the farm, and images of children learning. The images areused for demonstrating social, mental, and physical development towardsteaching to children.

  6. Your mural represents America and how it is a melting pot. You have pictures of different races, ages, and backgrounds, which really brings out what American truly is. It is not just one specific race or background, but a collection of various items to make this country great. Also the way that you incorporate black and white photos with color photos is great. Black and white photos, in my opinion, add an extra warmness to a work. This is a great work that makes me smile and feel good, because everyone in it is either smiling or having a great time. Awesome job on your work. I look forward reviewing more of you pieces. I feel you have a lot to give to this world. You are a worthwhile and valuable person.

  7. I also like the different photos you chose and the compilation of black/white photos and color photos. They compliment each other very well. The difference and similarities of the photos are striking. You showed families in different activities, and parents teaching their children, children playing and the loving bond between parents and children. I think alot of thought and effort went into your collage. Great job and I look forward to following your work to see more of your projects!!

  8. The composition is great. I especially like the framing effect created by the two larger figures. Also, the figure in the lower left corner coming out of the picture frame is highly effective. One suggestion, take a second look at your writing portion. Great ideas, but can use some developing.

The brightness and colors used in it is amazing. The artwork makes me think of family and how my parents taught me a lot when I was growing up. I like the collage images you used too.

  10. I haven't taken many art classes right now at school, but I like your family collage. The brightness of the images makes me feel happy. I can see the depth in the artwork that the background has. The pictures make me think of my family. I learned a lot when I grew up. It's a little cluttered, but it makes the concept of the family more important. Nice job!
